Didn't that recently fall apart when people started to realize there was going to be privacy issues surrounding people's Apple-IDs/accounts/information with Beeper Corp? Didn't Apple recently announce they will move towards RCS? Do many people actually have blue bubble envy?

They have had a few data breaches and run afoul of Apple before, Apple does not like anything is their eco system that they can not control.
