Just what we need more regulation. How about this, stop pushing not ready for prime-time products? With a bit of regulation, it'd all settle down fine just like other stuff has.

Not really. Batteries catch fire because they are poorly designed or cheaply made or both. No, Spartz, as much as I know you Canadians like your socialist big government, regulation isn't the answer to everythingWith a bit of regulation, it'd all settle down fine just like other stuff has.
Likewise! A plane needs both wings to fly!I want to just say, I hope you know I enjoy sparing with you. I take none of this personally. Unlike with Yamm who I enjoyed but started name calling and alike.
plane...plane? what plane who has the plane........LMAOLikewise! A plane needs both wings to fly!
Not sure Canadians specifically like socially focused governments any more or less than many other folks. Not really. Batteries catch fire because they are poorly designed or cheaply made or both. So regulate/prohibit them?.. As for the E bike the delivery people use them because they are cheaper than a scooter and do not require plates or insurance. I think they should be not be allowed to be sold until they can get the batteries right.
Treat them like any defective productSo regulate/prohibit them?
The issue is people who use them for work really have no choice. Until the government gets its head out of its *ss people will continue to be burned to deathLike I said in the other thread, I doubt there can be much done to change the tide in NYC, away from EBikes. Defective ones will just be returned for exchange for ones that aren't, or for refund to switch to a next different brand/model.
Who cares? It's like worrying about beans. Milk. Bread. They're all commodities. Who. Cares. Not sure Canadians specifically like socially focused governments any more or less than many other folks.
So for the cheaply made and poorly designed EBikes that everyone wants and are getting, just let the demand run its course until those foreign companies develop into being the sole suppliers?
Let people use common sense. Literally, Darwin Award. The government nanny state just dumbs a society down and kills individual critical thinking skills.Like I said in the other thread, I doubt there can be much done to change the tide in NYC, away from EBikes. Sure. However, others would say that's not wise, due to too many people going to die, and also just a continued flood of Chinese goods.Let people use common sense. Literally, Darwin Award. The government nanny state just dumbs a society down and kills individual critical thinking skills.
I guess no one cares, but then not sure why the thread was created.Who cares? It's like worrying about beans. Milk. Bread. They're all commodities. Who. Cares.
So the government is causing all these people to want EBikes? The issue is people who use them for work really have no choice. Until the government gets its head out of its *ss people will continue to be burned to death
Hence the Darwin award. Personal accountability for your actions. People need to grow up and thinning of the herd as in natural selection does have societal benefits.Sure. I think the Admiral friend was basically saying that the west is going to be casualty of a Darwin Award, consumed into and overtaken by China, if people and Governments don't wake up.Hence the Darwin award. Sometimes you have to fail/get hurt/and worse. It’s called life, if we went back to that the world would be a better placeI think the Admiral friend was basically saying that the west is going to be casualty of a Darwin Award, consumed into and overtaken by China, if people and Governments don't wake up.
Consumed by China? You must be joking. I once observed a PLA type in Hong Kong (before it was handed back).I think the Admiral friend was basically saying that the west is going to be casualty of a Darwin Award, consumed into and overtaken by China, if people and Governments don't wake up.
