Militia generally means something different in Canada than in the US. In Canada, basically refers to reserve army forces of the Canadian Armed Forces. Any training of Militia forces in Canada near the US border would be training with the likes of US Army National Guard, or maybe even with US or Candian regular army forces. I doubt they'd be too interested in ordering Pizza via GPS, unless it's specifically part of RandR. Presumably, you're actually referring to basically just armed citizens, for the militia context you mention about. Not really legal in Canada, unless it's just with hunting rifles.

====================================IWhile, I was commenting morein jest, seriously llegal?!? Y'all either have lost a lot of civil liberties or never had to begin with.

Organized militias have never really been my thing per se, but I've always understood and therefore accepted their right to exist here.

Overall, we generally don't have the same need/desires as Americans do for handguns and high calibre multi magazine automatic/semi-automatic weapons, etc. Some of us do, probably lots. However, that lots generally isn't in the majority (or they are more concerned about other pressing issues than making sure they elect officials that would move to transform our general approach and culture around gun control). You can refer to it as a critical civil liberty issue if you wish, but the majority of Canadians right now don't view it as about that and rights either.

Anyway, you know all this already. With my post I was just clarifying the Canadian Militia nuance of your post.

Not sure what you're talking about with regards to "high calibre multi magazine" firearms, perhaps you could provide a specific example(s). In regards to automatic weapons, pretty much have been illegal for decades. Even possession of a Glock Switch, not even installed, considered a major violation, equivalent to possesion of automatic weapon.

As far as organized militias go, they're related to private armies or private security that exist for all types of reasons other than overthrowing government(s) for actual civil liberties amongst other individuals freedoms.

In many cases state militias serve as a safety valve against tyranny. Like many words today it has been co-opted by the left as a bunch of loons.
